Demi Moore, Katy Perry and J-Lo, among other A-listers from Hollywood, rumoured to be taking the £14 green coffee pills to stay slim

In Tinseltown, outrageous slimming crazes are par for the course, from single colour eating to the “drip diet” and wheatgrass shots.

But there is a new fat-buster on sale, and it doesn’t include strange eating practices. demi

The green coffee pill is the new A-list diet aid of choice, which is considered to help reduce the appetite and also stimulating fat burning.

Demi Moore, Jennifer Lopez and Katy Perry are already rumored to be using these pills, and the rest of the Los Angeles highly fashionable celebrities are set to follow their example. Sold under the name Verdesse in the UK, the pill is produced from unripe coffee bean extract and, unlike green tea, it doesn’t contain caffeine.

Instead, the beans contain chlorogenic acids, including a potent natural fat-buster called 5-caffeoylquinic acid. A well-respected Hollywood nutritionist divulged in an interview that “My clients have been going crazy for green coffee bean pills”. In the run-up to the Oscars, the actresses do just about anything in order to look as thin as possible. They are all doing their best to have slimmer bodies on the red carpet. The word spread like fire through the Hollywood elite and the pill is considered the new miracle weight loss tablet. They also say that “You’re supposed to take 800mg a day but some are taking 1,600mg” and insisting “it can’t do any harm”.

Joe Vinson, who led the study, explained: “Based on our results, taking multiple capsules of green coffee extract a day — while eating a low-fat, healthful diet and exercising regularly — appears to be a safe, effective, inexpensive way to lose weight.”

Due to the evidences that support the reputation of green coffee’s fat-bursting, a significant number of health professionals pointed the negative aspects of green coffee bean pills, which can include high blood pressure and also anxiety. If people suffer from these, or epilepsy and panic attacks, they absolutely shouldn’t take the pills.

Even worse is that the suppliers outside of Europe and the USA are somewhat out of control and some have been discovered to substitute cheap ephedrine for the more costly coffee extract. You can even buy them online, but these pills contain additives to bulk them up and you cannot know for sure what they contain. The ephedrine is a substance banned in the UK because it acts like cocaine when consumed, it races the pulse and it makes the user hyperactive, while also suppressing his appetite.

The nutritionists are concerned that these pills will become popular even among the women who don’t need to lose weight, and therefore they will endure the consequences. Also, more rigorous investigations require to be done before we ingest the green coffee pill.
